Elizabeth Peabody House celebrated the grand opening of its new Toddler Center at 59 Cross Street on February 24, 2025, with the City of Somerville Mayor Katjana Ballantyne cutting the ceremonial ribbon.

The Elizabeth Peabody House (EPH) staff and community were honored to welcome City of Somerville Mayor Katjana Ballantyne to cut the ceremonial ribbon on our new educational facility at 59 Cross Street.

“For decades, EPH has been a cornerstone of support for families in Somerville. Today marks a significant milestone in advancing our mission because, through this facility, we reaffirm our commitment to supporting more children and their families,” stated EPH Executive Director Matthew Caughey.

This beautiful new space provides a welcoming space for families and a warm, nurturing environment for up to 18 children to learn and grow together.

All in attendance understood the importance of Mayor Ballantyne words when she said, “When we invest in early childhood, we invest in our future and a stronger community.”

Mayor Ballantyne was joined by State Representatives, City of Somerville Councilors, donors, educational partners, staff, and board members to recognize and celebrate this milestone in EPH’s journey.
